The Met School’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship opened to students at the end of 2011. This stand-alone school building was constructed within the confines of The Met’s Public Street Campus on a site with environmental land use restrictions (ELUR).
The 3,900-square foot post and beam building houses 8 student workrooms, a large conference room, 2 offices, an art gallery at the entrance and a common “business incubator” space to serve student groups as they conceptualize their own small businesses. It is the only stand-alone entrepreneurship center in the country for high school students.
ACC completed this very innovative building within a six-month construction schedule and on budget while complying with NECHPS and RI School Construction Regulations.
